* To qualify for Developing Country Member rate, you must be a member of ESA and be a citizen of and reside in a country listed on the World Bank list of developing countries. (Click here to access the list).

Guest Policy

The fee for guest registration for an adult (18 years old or older) who will accompany an attendee at the meeting is $45 per guest. Child or youth guests may be registered at no charge. Registered guests may attend Plenary Sessions, may participate in Field Trips and/or Ticketed Event (with payment of applicable fees), and may access the Exhibit Hall. Registered guests are NOT entitled to attend scientific programs such as symposia, workshops, organized and contributed oral sessions, or evening and special sessions

Cancellation

Written notification of registration cancellation must be e-mailed to tricia@esa.org by July 2, 2012. Registration cancellations received by July 2, 2012 will receive a complete refund minus a $25 administration fee. No refunds will be issued for registration or ticketed events cancelled after July 2, 2012.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Portland ESA Housing Bureau

ESA’s Annual Meeting housing site will open early April 2012.  We offer a good range of hotel rates, amenities, and locations in Portland, OR.  You will only benefit from the negotiated annual meeting rates if you use the ESA Housing Bureau.  The Headquarter Hotel will be the DoubleTree at Lloyd Center.  We also will have a block of rooms at Portland State University reserved for our students, which can be reserved through our Housing Bureau.

Why Use ESA’s Housing Bureau?

• You won’t pay in full when you make your reservation through the housing bureau, as you would with most on-line booking sites.
• If you lose your wallet we will be able to locate you and arrange its safe return when we can find you through the official hotel block.
• If there is a problem with your hotel room, the housing staff is at your service on-site to intervene on your behalf, something they cannot do if you reserve outside the official hotel block.

Child Care

Day Care for Young Children

For young children up to 8 years old we will once again have KiddieCorp provide day care. Registration for child care will open early April and the link will be listed here.

Day Care for Older Children

We shall contract with Mad Science to provide child care.  This program is guaranteed to spark child interest in science and demonstrate just how fun science can be.  The program and link will be posted in early February.
