ESA 2024 Registration Awards

Description

The Latin America & the Caribbean Chapter of ESA is offering four (4) registration awards valued at the cost of early-bird registration for student and developing country members of ESA attending the Annual Meeting in Long Beach, CA.  Applications will be received until May 31st, to provide ample time for us to select the awardees and for awardees to register before the early-bird deadline of June 27: https://ecologicalsocietyofamerica.org/longbeach2024/registration/

The awards will be given as either as a 1) discount promo code that will allow you to register for the annual meeting at no up-front cost to you, or 2) a check in the monetary value of the early-bird registration for your membership type given during the annual meeting. Awardees will be recognized and honored at the LAC Chapter Social event at ESA (attendance is highly recommended)

 
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
-a student or developing country member of ESA (https://ecologicalsocietyofamerica.org/membership/)
-a member of the Latin America & the Caribbean Chapter of ESA
-presenting a talk or poster at ESA
-planning to attend the meeting in-person (if possible)
All chapter members can and are encouraged to apply. To promote and facilitate student participation, priority will be given to students located in Latin America (Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico, and South America) presenting at the Annual Meeting. Similarly, priority will be given to developing country members. 
 
How it will work:
Awards will be chosen via a random draw, with the goal of providing two registration awards to student members and two registration awards for developing country members who are presenting at ESA in-person.

Best Poster Awards

The chapter will be offering poster awards. To participate, please fill out this form.

Eligibility In order to apply, students have to be ESA members and be affiliated with the Chapter.

How it will work   Winning applicants will receive the award in cash at the Chapter Mixer. Look for the time and place of this event in the meeting program.

Deadline The deadline to apply is the day before the meeting starts on August 4th.
