The Historical Records Committee (est. 1944) encourages members of the Ecological Society of America to conserve documents and photos pertinent to the Society’s history and the history of ecology, and makes the records available.

Since its earliest days, the Ecological Society has actively published a Bulletin reporting its activities and scholarly journals for its members and other ecologists. In his 1976 history of the Society, Bob Burgess summarized ESA’s publication efforts to that date. At that time, only the Bulletin, Ecology, and Ecological Monographs were included; these three are still published today.
