Tune in to the Ecological Society of America’s webinar on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM ET to learn about the emerging biodiversity credit market, a market-based strategy to fund conservation and restoration. Biodiversity credits are designed to reward landowners, businesses and governments for their conservation efforts, offering a new way to monetize the protection and restoration of ecosystems. Through biodiversity credits, stakeholders can help preserve wildlife habitats, enhance ecosystem services, and contribute to global sustainability targets.

This webinar is part of ESA’s preparations for COP16, the UN Biodiversity Conference in Cali, Colombia, and aims to provide valuable insights into how biodiversity credits could play a critical role in achieving global biodiversity goals.

Guest Speaker: Lis Nelis, Principal of Ecology and Biodiversity at Ramboll, will lead the webinar. With over 20 years of experience in environmental science and biodiversity, Nelis specializes in nature-based solutions, ecosystem restoration, and biodiversity due diligence. She brings her extensive knowledge of natural capital assessments and sustainability planning to this important discussion.
