COP 26 logoESA has received official observer status at the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on October 31 – November 12, 2021. ESA members will be attending COP26. This page will be updated with resources related to COP 26 and updates from ESA members at COP 26.

ESA Urges All Nations to Take Climate Action at COP26

ESA’s presidents issued a statement calling on world leaders attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP26) in Glasgow to pledge immediate action to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas emissions that limits rising temperatures to 1.5⁰ C.

RINGO website

The Research and Independent Non-Governmental Organizations (RINGO) constituency to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is one of nine NGO constituencies recognized by the UNFCCC. It is the second largest constituency, comprising 25% of the 2000 admitted NGOs and includes science societies.

 

RINGO  announced that Wednesday, November 10, is the Research into Action thematic day organized by the UNFCCC in conjunction with RINGO. You will see many side events featuring the work of RINGO members listed on SEORS for this day.  On Tuesday, November 9, the UK COP26 Presidency has organized Science and Innovation Day in the UK pavilion featuring a number of side events.
