2021 ESA Meeting Registration Award – ESA Asian Ecology Section
The ESA Asian Ecology Section offers six registration grants for student members presenting talk or poster at the 2021 ESA Annual meeting. The award is designed to assist student members with covering their registration costs. The winners of the award will each receive $55 (the registration fee for ESA student members).
The deadline for priority consideration for the award is April 30, 2021. Apply early if you wish to take advantage of this opportunity. All applications received after that date will be considered on a rolling basis, as funding is available. If you are applying for funding, do not register for the meeting until you have received notification about a grant from ESA.
Eligibility requirements:
- A student is defined as an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a higher educational institution.
- The student must be an Asian Ecology Section member at the time of the application (to sign up, go to https://eservices.esa.org/).
- The student must present an oral or poster presentation at the 2021 ESA annual meeting.

2021 Early Career Award & Outstanding Student Award – ESA Asian Ecology Section
The ESA Asian Ecology Section plans to offer one Early Career Award and one Outstanding Student Award in 2021. These awards are designed to recognize the research excellence of early career AES members and graduate student members. The winner of each award will receive $250. Application deadline is June 1, 2021; the award recipients will be notified by June 15, 2021.
Both awards will be given for an outstanding ecological research paper published in 2020 or 2021.
Early Career Award eligibility requirements:
- The applicant must be in the early stage of his/her career, that is, having completed a Ph.D. with the last five years at the time of application.
- The applicant must be an Asian Ecology Section member at the time of the application (to sign up, go to https://eservices.esa.org/).
- The paper must have been published in 2020 or 2021 to be eligible for this year’s award.
- The applicant must be the first author of the paper.
- Past winners may not reapply for the same award in subsequent years.
Outstanding Student Award eligibility requirements:
- The applicant must be a student, defined as an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a higher educational institution.
- The applicant must be an Asian Ecology Section member at the time of the application (to sign up, go to https://eservices.esa.org/).
- The paper must have been published in 2020 or 2021 to be eligible for this year’s award.
- The applicant must be the first author of the paper.
- Past winners may not reapply for the same award in subsequent years.
