White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Representatives, Federal Agency Representatives and Authors join with ESA to discuss the state of nature in the US
Long Beach, CA — Leaders in US environmental/science policy will review the emerging details of the first ever National Nature Assessment (NNA) and the Biodiversity and Climate Change Assessment with the ecological community. ESA incoming President Stephanie Hampton and Jane Lubchenco, Deputy Director for Climate and Environment at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, will kick off the session by discussing the urgent need to understand the state of nature and climate ÂÂin the US. The assessments aim to report on the condition and trends in nature within the United States, the ways nature affects the economy, public health, environmental justice, climate mitigation and adaptation and national security.
Panelists from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Federal Agencies and assessment authors will discuss the connections between the NNA and the Biodiversity and Climate Change Assessment.
